Position: Isp Business Systems (Interim)

Location: Hall Ings, Bradford, BD1 1HX

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Duration: 3+ Months

Working Hours: 37 hours per week (9:00-17:00)

Pay Rate: £13.69 per hour

Job Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day support for business systems within the council’s IT environment, ensuring services remain operational and user issues are resolved efficiently.

Act as the first point of contact for system-related queries, incidents, and service requests, logging, prioritising, and resolving or escalating where necessary.

Support the maintenance, configuration, and administration of core business applications used across council departments.

Assist in the testing and implementation of system updates, patches, and new functionality to ensure minimal disruption to services.

Work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to troubleshoot system issues and deliver fixes in a timely manner.

Maintain accurate system documentation, user guides, and process records.

Support data integrity by carrying out routine checks, reporting issues, and assisting with data cleansing activities where required.

Contribute to continuous improvement of business systems processes and user experience.

Ensure compliance with council IT policies, security standards, and data protection requirements.

Provide general administrative and technical support to the Business Systems team as needed.

Person Specification

Experience working in a business systems support, IT support, or application support role within a public sector or large organisation.

Strong understanding of IT service desk processes, including incident and request management.

Ability to troubleshoot system issues methodically and escalate appropriately when required.

Good knowledge of business applications and enterprise systems (experience with council or public sector systems is desirable).

Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.

Experience working with stakeholders across multiple departments.

Ability to manage workload effectively and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Attention to detail, particularly when handling data and system records.

Understanding of data protection, confidentiality, and information security principles.

IT-related qualification or equivalent practical experience preferred.
